Cinema vouchers using Tesco clubcard

I hadn't intended to post about cinemas again but came across the Tesco clubcard offer for vouchers for Cineworld. The nearest Cineworld to Stockton is in Middlesbrough, with plenty of buses running between the towns and trains too.

You can exchange vouchers for adult (£4.50), child (£3.50), unlimited pass (£96), or small popcorn & drink combo (£2.50). Personally I don't think it really saves you much money, it just gives you an alternate way to use your clubcard points.

You can also exchange the clubcard vouchers for adult and child tickets for the Odeon which is based in Darlington.

Cineworld Movies For Juniors

Although I knew there was some sort of kids movie club at Cineworld I hadn't really bothered looking into it before. The movies tend to be ones recently released on DVD and are only on Saturday mornings, or weekdays during school holidays, at 10am. Having said that for the price (£1.75 at the Cinema or £1.58 if logged on and booked online) it's still a great experience for the kids

More details can be found online at http://www1.cineworld.co.uk/movies-for-juniors

Middlesbrough is easy to get to from Stockton, either by car, train or bus.

Vue Cinema Tickets, 1000 Nectar Points For Two

Until 11th August it is possible to redeem 1000 Nectar points for 2 Vue Cinema tickets, which works out the equivalent of £5. You can use more than one voucher at a time, but the two tickets have to be for the same showing. There is no restriction on whether the tickets are for adults, children or concessions.

The nearest Vue cinema is in Hartlepool and the number 36 bus stops on the main road next to the cinema.  However it is considerably quicker to get the train to Hartlepool, from either Stockton or Thornaby, 25 minutes instead of an hour. If you have a Family & Friends railcard it costs just under £6 for the return fare for 1 adult & 3 children, but there is a longer walk from the station to the cinema.
